They look at the pictiures and read the sentences. Then they decide whose class it is. One example is done for them. Then some easy prac of pres cont tense (alternatives are given). Thes epics are great for preposition practice, too.

Food vocabulary, possessive s, food adjectives and easy sentences regarding the prices of food. The worksheet is useful for revision or towards the end of the topic food.

Whose Game

Bring six students to the front of the classroom, and give them one card to each of them. They can't show them until the teacher says so. The teacher tells them to show them, and after a few seconds (7-8, I'd say), hide them again. Take one of them and ask: "Whose is this X?". The student has to answer with the genitive: "It's John's". If you show and drill the structures a couple of minutes before you start the game, it works wonders. Again, a small prize (a sweet, for example) is quite an incentive. It worked really well

Whose granny is it?

First, they read the descriptions of the children and put the right name in. Then they match them to their granny. On page 2, they match the gran to the description and describe a granny themselves. Or describe their own granny... Grandmothers can be called, gran, grandma, granny, nan, nana, or for the very posh, grandmama.
