Why Do We Stay? : nouns formed by suffixes

This worksheet is designed for **B2 learners** and focuses on the theme of **emotional dependency in toxic relationships**, using **nouns formed by suffixes** as the grammar point. The lesson begins with a reading passage that explores why people stay in harmful relationships and how emotional dependency develops, drawing comparisons to Stockholm Syndrome. Through multiple-choice and open-ended questions, students engage with the text, applying critical thinking about emotional attachment and unhealthy dynamics. The discussion questions encourage deeper reflection on societal and personal experiences with relationships, fostering an open dialogue among students. The grammar section introduces **suffixes** such as *-ation*, *-ment*, and *-hood*, guiding students in understanding how verbs and adjectives can be transformed into nouns. Students explore this grammar point using a **guided discovery** approach, followed by controlled practice where they form nouns with suffixes and apply them in real-world contexts. The abstract-style images used in the worksheet visually represent emotional chaos, breaking free, and healing, enhancing the theme. The lesson concludes with a reflective writing task, allowing students to use newly acquired vocabulary while discussing emotional growth and recovery. This worksheet combines grammar, discussion, and emotional awareness, providing an engaging and meaningful learning experience.

Why do zebras have stripes?

The tasks I compiled are ideal for intermediate learners or upper-intermediate ones. The worksheet contains diverse tasks, for example, discussion questions, a reading, a listening, a role-play and a picture description. The related video and the content of the reading may be interesting for older pupils. My aim was to improve SS's critical thinking skills. I hope you will enjoy my worksheet. :) Have a lovely day.

Why is Charlie so cool... like? (Past Simple Test)

I created this worksheet for my 6th grader students to evaluate their reading comprehension, their ability to differentiate between the Past and Present Simple Tense, to recognize and use the regular and irregular forms of the verbs in Past Simple, making questions and answering them. I tried to make the tasks as authentic as possible, so the students wouldn't see just simple grammar drills, but to really use their English knowledge.I got the text from this link:https://learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org/study-break/graded-reading/why-charlie-so-cool-level-1It's about a 16-years-old guy who became a famous YouTuber - a topic I think it's interesting to every 12-13 years old student - or so I hope :)The worksheet includes true or false tasks, asking and answering questions, verb categorizing, sentence rewriting tasks for those students who still struggle with English after 6 years of study and justification, creative writing exercises for those who have already acquired a great A2 skill. So hopefully every student can find something easy or challenging to do.
