Boardgame Vocabulary

Brettspiel mit Fragenkarten zur Festigung des Vokabulars (hier Höhere Berufsfachschule Wirtschaft). Es gibt drei verschiedene Fragentypen: Spelling, Vocabulary, Missing Letters, die auf Kärtchen in verschiedenen Farben (dem Spielbrett entsprechend) ausgedruckt werden. Die Schüler spielen in kleinen Gruppen gegeneinander und kontrollieren sich gegenseitig. - Das Spiel ist ganz von mir. Ich habe es vor einigen Jahren im Rahmen der Zweiten Staatsarbeit entwickelt.

Boardgame with Conditionals

This boardgame is aimed for students studying conditional sentences. It's easily adaptable and can be used to practice any of the conditionals. The idea is that the students play in pairs or groups and they have to form a conditional sentence. E.g. "You can have any animal as a pet" -> "If I could have any animal as a pet, I would have a chimpanzee". The teacher can also tell them to form the sentences in the past (If I could have had any animal as a pet when I was a kid...). Obviously the board can be used to practice other things as well, such as verb tenses or vocabulary (e.g. "You can travel to any country" -> pairs list countries and choose the one they'd travel to) or the sentences can even be used as as conversation topics.

Boardgame: At school

Zum spielerischen Einüben von englischen Vokabeln, die dem Überbegriff „Schule“ zugeordnet werden können, habe ich für meine Nachhilfe SuS (5. Klasse, Realschule/Gesamtschule, Hessen) ein Lernspiel erstellt. Meine SuS freuen sich immer, wenn sie anhand von Lernspielen/Boardgames Vokabular etc. (ein)üben können. Boardgame: food, adverbs of frequency, 3rd person s

The students need counters and dice, if they get to a field with a red heart- they take up two cards- a coloured one and one from the card stack. E.g: we- fish: We like fish. Green card: The Millers don't like pizza. always: Mary always has cereals for breakfast. And so on. Students write the sentences into their exercise books, that makes it easier to check. Picture cards can't be uploaded, I took the pictures from the internet.

Boardgame: What time is it?

Zum spielerischen Üben der Uhrzeit (engl.), habe ich für meine Nachhilfe SuS (5. Klasse, Realschule/Gesamtschule, Hessen) ein Lernspiel erstellt. Wenn man auf ein Feld mit einer Uhr kommt, muss man die angezeigte Uhrzeit nennen und darf, sofern man die Antwort weiß, auf das entsprechende Textfeld vorrücken. Wenn man auf ein Textfeld kommt, muss man auf das Feld zurück, auf dem die entsprechende Uhrzeit abgebildet ist. Auf insgesamt 4 Aktionsfeldern muss z.B. das englische ABC aufgesagt oder auf Englisch gezählt werden. Meine SuS freuen sich immer, wenn sie anhand von Boardgames/Lernspielen zu bestimmten Themen üben können. Vielleicht ist dieses Spiel ja auch für einige von Euch interessant? Boat/Island Survival Mingling Role Play Activity

This is a mingling role play activity for intermediate to advanced students. There are 12 character profiles. Each profile has a strength and weakness and they must promote themselves to the other students so they do not get voted off the boat/island. I like to make the students vote every 10-15 minutes. Students who are voted out still participate by sharing talking and listening to others and sharing their opinions for who should be kicked out next, but they cannot vote or promote themselves anymore. This is a lesson I created for our schools 'extra speaking lessons' that are offered once a month. They are usually 60 minutes lessons where the goal is to get students to practice speaking 100% of the class.
